Missions
AUMC's Missions Committee embraces outreach in many forms .

Houston Habitat for Humanity works by faith to change lives and empower families by building homes in partnership with God and people from all walks of life.
Family Promise of Lake Houston (FPLH) is a faith based non-profit organization of local congregations with the goal of assisting homeless families that need help getting back on their feet and living independently. www.fplh.org
Humble Area Assistance Ministries is an interfaith organization united with others in the community to serve the basic needs of those in financial crises and provide assistance leading toward self sufficiency. Started in 1990, HAAM has been serving the northeast Houston area for 20 years. HAAM is supported by a coalition of 30 churches and organizations that provide over 55,000 volunteer hours annually. In 2009 HAAM gave over 1,677,488 worth of direct client assistance. HAAM is the largest most comprehensive social service agency in the area.
Saturday’s Child is a local ministry which provides very poor and needy Humble area children and their families with one bag of food each week. The food is delivered to their homes on Saturday mornings and is enough to help them through the weekend. Our church has a group of eleven families that we have committed to help each weekend.
Partners In Mission is to be the primary organization of the Texas Annual Conference (TAC) committed to sending short term volunteer mission teams to be in partnership with local, national and international Methodist churches, in response to God’s call. Our task is what we do with our abilities - from moving soil, laying bricks, mixing cement, painting, carpentry work, teaching Vacation Bible School to participating in medical missions. Our task should always be secondary to our purpose of sharing Christ’s love in ways that make a Christian difference.

AUMC participates in timely support whenever disaster strikes. Recent efforts have been Flood Buckets, Health Kits, Mobile Medical Clinics, support for UMCOR, and various donations to hurricane relief.
