Confirmation Point Information 2011 - 2012

Points are accumulated from Sunday, September 11, 2011 through Sunday, April 15, 2012.  Confirmands need to earn at least 60 points in non Confirmation activities.  As seen below, points are given for Sunday Morning (attending church and Sunday school); however, only 10 points will count for going to church.  They can receive up to 10 points for the Singing & Strumming Class.  All other points need to come from other youth activities (MYF, retreats, Bible Studies, Jr./Sr. High Night Out, etc.).

A Confirmation Weekly Point Sheet is to be filled out and turned in to Susan at the beginning of class each week.  Every youth is responsible for keeping up with their points.  Just because you have earned all your points, does not mean you should stop attending worship, Sunday school, MYF or any youth events.  Keep accruing your points because recognition will be given out to the Confirmand(s) with the most points at the end of the session. 

The purpose of accruing these points is to make you aware of your involvement at church.  Remember, Confirmation is not the end of your faith walk but only the beginning.

1. Attend worship at AUMC (up to 10 points can be received) – 1 Point each Sunday
2. Attend Sunday School at AUMC – 1 Point each Sunday
3. Attend MYF – 1 Point each Sunday
4. Youth Singing and Strumming Class (up to 10 points can be received) – 1 Point each class
5. Attend Bible Study Classes – 1 Point each class
6. Attend Jr. High/Sr. High Night Out – 1 Point
7. Fall Youth Retreat – 10 Points
8. Setting up for Halloween Dance – 3 Points
9. Halloween Dance – 5 Points
10. Family Worship Night, 10/30/11 – 3 Points
11. Hanging of the Green/Children’s musical – 1 Point
12. Cookies & Carols – 1 Point
13. Youth Christmas Party – 3 Points
14. Christmas Eve Services – 1 Point for each attend

Other points will be assigned as activities come up.  Don’t forget to use this sheet to verify how many points are assigned to each activity.  Make sure you are giving yourself the correct number of points.  You don’t want to lose out on points.

Don’t forget to put your name on your sheets.  I will not guess who they belong to.
